Jake conducts the middle school choral program, music directs the high school musicals and is the director of the private lesson program at Dwight-Englewood School. 


He is a graduate of Nyack College in music composition and the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop. He is a member of the Workshop Theatre Company and the Dramatist's Guild.

3 times a shepherd, never a Joseph

Jake wrote music and orchestrations for the musical "Dreamchaser", with lyrics by Joshua David Bishop (2003); book, music, lyrics and orchestrations for "The Lost Boys" (off-Broadway 2010), it is currently being revised and developed for a new production; the 10-minute musical "Once Upon the Moon" with lyrics by Janine McGuire (2013). Current musicals in development are "Anne of Green Gables", "O, Pioneers" and a third project which he hopes to announce soon. 


With Medicine Show Theatre, Jake has served as an arranger/music director on "Hooray For What!", Cole Porter's "Paris" and "Mr. Shakespeare and Mr. Porter", having access to previously unpublished Cole Porter material. Jake orchestrated the Andrew Lloyd Webber revue "Any Dream Will Do" and recently wrote a set of "contemporary" orchestrations for "The Pirates of Penzance". 


Jake Lloyd is a New York City based musical theatre composer, lyricist and librettist. Jake has been involved in theatre for a long time: from a record-holding-post as "third shepherd from the left" in Christmas pageants, to an amateur (and probably bootleg) production of "Disney's" Pinocchio when he was 9, to various theatre venues in and around the New York to his first off-Broadway musical premiering in 2010.
